Modern children are proving really very tough for the nerves of parents. Now a days parents have to work very hard to make both ends meet and help the children get good education or make a bright career. And a mother not only has to earn but also to fulfill her other household duties (cooking, housekeeping, nurturing and guiding children). And many mothers think that helping their children in home work is their most testing time. And it becomes the main cause of their nerve-wrecking stress. Here are some tips for them to help their child rationally:
1. Don't Pressurize Your Child
If you pressurize your child to do home work it just creates in him a disinterest in studies and aggravate your problems too. Over-pressure from parents is one of the reasons behind ill health and tensions among children. Thus you will gain less lose more. You need to keep patience and inspired your child with new ways. If necessary take the help of other wise friends or people to solve the problem.
2. Stick to the Time Table
It is difficult to persuade children to do home work when they are playing or having fun. So make a time table for them. Fix hours for home work. It may be difficult in the beginning. But children get adjusted to it soon.
3. Extend a Helping Hand
Many parent order a child to sit for homework then just get busy with their own schedules. But if you ignore the children during that period they will get bore and just pass time. They need your help to understand many things so that home work is easy for them. Be ready to extend a helping hand whenever they need.
4. Set a Time Limit
Be careful your child doesn't take one hour to do a home work that can be completed in just ten minutes. Check his or her home work and set a time limit for home work of a particular subject. It will also increase writing speed.
5. Arrange Comfortable Sitting and Environment
First of all you have to see to it that the child is able to do the work in a comfortable atmosphere. Sitting arrangement should be according to the liking of the child. Give extra care to the environment. There should not be any thing or noise around to distract his or her attention. Keep the TV switched off during that period. Be ready to miss your favorite TV programs if needed.
6. Do Give a Reward
After a child completes its homework set an award form him. Always allow him to watch his favorite TV program or play games. When children know that a good reward-fruit is waiting for them after the completion of home-work, they try to do homework fast. But remember, too much of everything is bad.
So be moderate in everything.
