Internet marketing is filled with the enthusiastic writers ready to go to any length to publish their work. People are even ready to pay to get published and see their name with a hope that the day will come when a good publisher will help them to get name and fame. But most of the time they just get cheated and repent after losing a lot of money. They spend a lot of money in buying various quick-money-making products mostly containing rubbish. They are in dark what to do next. Nobody is ready to give them money even if they write well. They see that famous writers are valued everywhere even if they write boring articles in big newspaper and magazines. Internet is playing a big role in exploiting the new and upcoming writers.

But new and talented writers need not lose heart. If they have talent and a passion for writing sooner or later they will get what they really deserve. They must be cautious though. Instead of writing dozens of articles every week and earning peanuts they can think about writing small books. With simple guidelines and lot of hard work they can definitely write good books. Then they can try to get them published or publish it themselves. If their writing has strength people will like it. Here are some guidelines to help a new writer to write a best-seller:

1. Think About an Idea

The first requisite of writing a hot selling book is to have good idea. Observe about the need of the people, the trend in the market, and look for some unique topic. Don't try to write what everybody else is writing. Success in any field is always based on a strong idea. Write several new ideas, and then choose one to write a wonderful book.

2. Target Your Readers

Don't write a book which is good for everybody. If you try to write such a book both you as well as the reader may get confused. Write for one segment of the society. Target the old, the young, the teenagers, the housewives, students, businessmen or any other. Finalise your idea after thinking a particular section of the readers.

3. Solve Problems

These days people rarely read books for entertainment. TV and internet is fulfilling this need. Most of the people are buying books to solve problems. Your book will jump in value if you give information in an interesting way. People are buying your book to get some information on the topic they want to read. If the information is presented in a monotonous form it will difficult for anybody to enjoy the book. They may give up reading in boredom.

6. Be Compact and Forceful

These days nobody wants to read lengthy articles or exhaustive books. People don't have time for big books. They shudder at their sheer size. They get so much knowledge from TV and Internet. And wrote upir articles in a forceful way. Small books having small and effective articles sell more.

7. Write Simple Sentences

Gone are the days when complex sentences were related to the wisdom of a writer. Many writers wrote such books which the common people never understood. Still those writers were printed and they got respect. Critics loved to explain their work. But in this fast age people don't even want to look at such creation. So don't use difficult words. Write in a language which the people can understand and grasp easily. If most of the people have to open dictionary to understand the meaning of your sentences your career as a writer may land in trouble.

8. Check Grammar and Spellings

If there are grammar and spellings mistakes a reader may throw away a book after reading only two or three pages. Such mistakes are embarrassing. A reader loses the faith in the capability of the writer.

9. Spend Time to Choose a Title

Although actual success of your book depends on the contents yet a good name helps a book to sell. A good name is the first attraction for a buyer. And the name should tell about the actual content of a book. It must never be misleading otherwise you will get a tarnished image. It will dent the sales figures of the book. An impressive title on an attractively designed book compels the people to buy the book. Title should have minimum and power-packed words. Like ' It is not difficult to grab the attention of the people in business' is a bad title. But for the same content the following title is crispy and attractive: 'How to Grab the Attention of Businessmen'. The second example: Title 'Thirty Rhymes to Develop the Brain of Your Child' than 'Thirty Rhymes to Help Your Child to Develop Brain Power in a Few Days'.

10. Choose the words for Front & Last Pages Carefully

First a buyer is attracted by the title and design of a book. Then he picks up the book and reads the sentences and words written on front and back page. You need to do extra handwork to frame words and sentences of these pages. Good composition will compel a potential buyer to purchase the book. Use back cover mostly for testimonials. Contact the famous persons of the field on which you are writing the book, show them the content page and a few chapters and request to write a short comment. Good comments from the famous help your book to sell faster.

11. Understand the Value of Contents/Index Page

You have worked very hard on the contents of your book but if you have framed the contents page carelessly - names of the sections or the articles are unattractive - it may dampen the enthusiasm of the buyer. So give attractive headings to each chapter or section.

Introduction or preface of a book should not cover more than two pages. And should it should tell the aim of writing the book, how valuable the book may be for a reader, and what is special in the book. Your book must be unique in some way and it should be mentioned in the introduction.

A new writer can't sell if he lacks expertise in writing. New writers should always show their book to an expert writer to take their opinion. And the contents of the book should be improved according to the opinion of the expert.

15. Show to Different Publishers

You need a publisher who can publish your book. It is the second most difficult talk after writing the book. Most of the publishers don't touch the book of a new writer. They are hardcore businessmen. They don't want to lose money. But if you are able to show the importance of your book and ready to forget royalty for some time you may be able to find several publishers who can publish the book. And if you are ready to share some expenses of the book many publishers will come forward to publish your book.

16. Choose the Right Publisher
